In my experiences as a personal trainer since 2011, and competitive powerlifter since 2013, I have seen the confidence that resistance training has instilled in men and women of all ages, from teens to strong men women in their 70s, there’s not a single person who isn’t able to participate! Resistance training has truly changed my life for the better, and has shaped my body in ways I never thought I’d be able to achieve. After experiencing the life-changing effects, and knowing the health benefits of proper nutrition and exercise, I have become extremely passionate about helping others get to their health, strength, and physique goals!
In 2015, I was presented with the opportunity to work and volunteer on a military base in New York as an independent contractor. Working closely with the military has introduced me to a new method of approaching training: remote coaching. It has given me access to work with people both in person, and remotely, all over the world, staying connected to people who I have had the opportunity to meet face-to-face, as well as through the internet!
Now I know a lot of people out there do “online coaching,” but my business started the other way around. I didn’t want to leave my clients without good, strong guidance, so I developed a method to reach them without being there in person. Using Skype, email, google sheets, and social media, we are able to keep in touch with each other on a regular, almost daily basis, and never miss a beat! I know that good coaching doesn’t start and end with
training, there needs to be an active communication and role in each others’ lives. We are like an extension of each others’ family!
I started out as a couch potato, and slowly worked my way up to becoming a NY State record holding powerlifter. Experiencing what it’s like to be at both ends of the spectrum has allowed me to relate to people from all levels of fitness. In person, I get to really experience all of the emotional and physical struggles that an individual goes through in real life, which helps me to understand and to cater to my remote clients on a personal level. It really is a skill that is crafted with experience, and every year spent training clients both online and in person allows me to hone my craft, and I am so incredibly grateful to have the pleasure of being able to work with so many amazing people from all over the world!
My lifelong love for learning has also played a large role in my understanding of the human body, how it works, and how to make it function better. I learn from my client’s experiences, from my experiments on myself and some brave volunteers, and through extensive schooling. I received my Bachelor’s degree in biology, and I am waiting to hear back on my admittance into a Master’s in Exercise Science program in the hopes to continue to aid people in their quest for better fitness.
Meanwhile, I volunteer my time as a referee to the USPA, one of the leading powerlifting organizations in the country. I also hold a coaching certificate through this federation, and use that certification, as well as my certification in personal training, to better service my clients, both in person and remotely.
I am incredibly proud to have met and trained many dedicated soldiers and athletes who have been incredibly successful both on and off the platform. It’s not enough to be a good coach if you do not have clients who are willing to put their trust in you and to follow protocols, so for that I am very grateful. I would like to help as many people as possible to fall in love with a sport and a lifestyle that I am so passionate about!
